Years of farming by hand in the sun cost Dama her vision in the form of double cataracts. Dust and the reflected rays are very common causes of cataracts here on the equator. But hope was not lost forever and when Dama was 63, a Lighthouse poster in a local clinic caught the eye of her son-in-law. Her daughter soon brought her in and her vision was able to be restored!
