Qualifications
Training and encouraging our Pastors and their wives is a huge passion for us. We long to pour into them in order to strengthen them for their ministries, but we need YOUR help to do that.
Our Pastors have spent several years being trained in Bible and Theology already, so it is important that their teachers have also. We request that the teachers would be formally educated Preaching Pastors themselves, or Missions Pastors. Please adhere to a moderate, semi-reformed, non-denominational theology. Also remember that the issues of the Kenyan church are likely quite different from the issues of the American church. But don’t worry, you will be in close communication with our staff here to plan and execute an excellent, culturally appropriate conference!
The 3-day conference usually starts around 8 am, breaks for tea time from 10-10:30 and resumes sessions until lunch at 1pm, where you will have a chance to enjoy a local meal and fellowship with the Pastors attending. Plan around having a translator, as not all attending speak English.
Being a Pastor’s wife in any culture has its own unique challenges and heartaches. If you have a heart for encouraging these dear women, you might be a perfect fit. Bear in mind that culture is enormously different from in the US, and we must be conservative and Biblically-based in our teachings. Be prepared to encourage, love on, get to know, and share Biblical truths with these beloveds.

Cost to Hold a Conference
To hold a conference for our Pastors costs $2,000. Additionally, you will be housed at Lighthouse during your stay in Kenya at a rate of $50 per person, per day. This includes meals!
