Tim and Toni Ghrist
Tim Ghrist has his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Divinity Degree from Talbot Seminary. He was appointed the mission director and began serving with the Lighthouse in 1983. Having handed over the Director baton to his son, he now spends his days teaching in the Bible School, and mentoring pastors with the Lighthouse for Christ Fellowship of Churches. His wife is a personal evangelist and enjoys assisting the chaplains in the clinic.
Josh and Maggie Ghrist & Family
Josh and Maggie Ghrist have served with Lighthouse for Christ in Mombasa, Kenya since November 2006. They have 3 boys, Matthew (11), Caleb (9), and Jordan (7). Josh, a business management professional, works as the Mission Director, teaches in the Bible School, and oversees both media and facility improvement projects. Maggie, an education professional, focuses on ESL classes and home education for their children.
Jimmy is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and has 28 years experience in the US. He came to the Lighthouse to help in the optical shop and views his profession not only as a way to help Kenyans see better but also as a vehicle in which he brings the Gospel to Kenya. His passion is to reach out to kids on the street and in orphanages.
Justin and Shannon Brown & Family
Justin and Shannon Brown have worked in East Africa since January 2009. Justin has his Masters in Business Administration and Shannon is a registered nurse. They have three beautiful girls: Hunter (12), Avery (10), and Braelyn (8). They started in Mombasa, teaching at Pwani Bible Institute and working with street children. In 2011, they transitioned to a small island off the coast of Tanzania. They lived and worked there for the last five years, opening an adult education center and a clinic in a rural village. They are excited to now transition back to where it all started- Mombasa. Justin will work alongside the mission director to help in all areas of the mission. Shannon will homeschool the girls and look for when and where God wants her outside ministry to develop.
